FROM THE PRINCIPAL - JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue (last edition for the 2017-2018 school year) ... I cannot believe we are at the end of another school year. The year just flew by as it always does. Just yesterday I was sitting at Chaparral's graduation and thinking about the past and the future. This is my 7th year as a part of the Chaparral family and this was the first year that the students at Chap who were graduating had me as an assistant principal when I was at Pine Lane Elementary. It was awesome to see those students walk across the stage. There was another point in the ceremony when they had all of the graduating seniors who went to CTE, stand up and be recognized. It was great to see those students but at the same time, I felt a bit sad that I didn't know most of those students. It will be another three years before the students who had me as a principal will be graduating from Chap. As I think back on this year, overall I think it has been a really good year. I learned probably more about leadership this year than my previous three years combined. It seemed like every other day something else came up that turned into another lesson learned. I look forward to taking all of the learning I have done this year and putting it into practice for next year. As I bring this year's chronicles to a close, I want to stress to all of my loyal readers that I very much love my job. I truly love our students, our families, our staff, and our school. I feel extremely lucky to have my job and extremely lucky to be a part of this community. I am proud of the work we have done here, I am proud of our students, and I am proud of our staff. I hope everyone enjoys there summer and I look forward to next year and hearing about all of your summer adventures! See you next time when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
