In our first grade classroom, we try to express ourselves in any way we can! With the use of our STEAM and Design Thinking wall, my students have the ability to not only see the process and components of STEAM and Design Thinking, but they can understand how they all go hand in hand by physically working with the STEAM/DT wall and putting up the work they have created. This allows my students to visually see how they go through the process and the wall gives them the freedom to put up their own pieces of STEAM and Design Thinking work. I love how my students can look at the wall if they get stuck understanding what Engineering is or what phase they should go through next in the Design Thinking process. They can look and see the examples from previous projects on the wall to help them work though their challenges on their own. We love our STEAM and Design Thinking wall and it will be something we'll continue to add to and grow from as the year goes on!
